Abohav Synagogue is a 16th century synagogue located in the heart of the Old City of Safed. According to tradition, the synagogue is named after Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhav, author of the book Menorat HaMaor, but it is more likely that the synagogue is named after Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhav of Castile, whose disciples were Rabbi Yaakov Birav who immigrated to Israel and settled in Safed.
