Ari Ashkenazi Synagogue in Safed is one of the oldest synagogues in the ancient Jewish quarter of Safed.
According to tradition, the place of the synagogue is “Hakal Tapuhin Kaddishin” (Field of the Holy Apples) – the place of the open field where the Ari and his disciples would go out to receive the Shabbat.
The most prominent thing inside the synagogue is a large ark that rises to a great height and is carved in wood. In the closet are colorful developments with motifs of Jewish symbols.
